Job Title: General Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The General Manager is responsible for leading business and  managing various aspects of planning and daily operations.
He/She must have  good  leadership  and  innovative marketing skills , and  ability to deal with complex issues tactfully.
JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Coordinates the selection, shipment, delivery and installation of furniture and equipment at projects.
  • Coordinates and participates in the development of specifications, estimates, bid documents, and purchase order requests for furniture and equipment needed for renovations and new construction.
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure occupancy progresses on schedule.
  • Develops and maintains furniture and equipment standards.
  • Develops and maintains a database and computerized system for estimating, specifying and ordering furniture and equipment.
  • Develops criteria for evaluating new furniture and equipment products for compliance with specifications.
  •  Develops criteria and procedures for evaluating and replacing furniture.
  • Oversee the management of the  distribution center operations, inventory.
  • Identify profitable customers and lead the sales team to build the business with these customers.
  • Develop the sales team by reinforcing sales training and utilizing proven sales processes.
  • Personally manage key relationships with senior level people in select targeted customers.
  • Reinforce a continual process improvement culture in sales and distribution to improve profitability.
  • Framing of policies and norms for daily operations
  • Establish long term goals and Coordinate with distributors for business deals and expansion
  • Analyze market trends for new opportunities
  • Study competitor's products and plan for framing new strategies
  • Manpower planning
  • Analyze annual and monthly reports for corrective measures, in case of discrepancies
  • Responsible for over all performance of the organization
  • Guide and lead the team of managers in achieving the set targets and goals
 
SKILLS
 
Desired Skills and Experience
  •  Must have experience in Manufacturing within Interiors – ie furniture/ interior design/ joinery/ carpentry/ wood
  • Proven executive level leadership skills that are self-motivated and results driven.
  • Ability to motivate a multi-functional, diverse team to collaborate effectively around a common vision.
  • Extremely strong sales & sales management skills focused on managing sales people, training and motivating them to sell “value” more effectively.
  • Discipline process and execution skills, to strengthen the processes and routines across the business in distribution and in sales.
  • Solid numeric and financial skills to be successful .
  • Ability to successfully navigate in customer, field sales, operations, office and distribution environments.
